Map pack work
Profile, categories and service areas set so they match how far you actually travel.
Nobody compares five websites when water is coming through the ceiling. Instead, they search “emergency plumber Scarborough”, look at the three businesses on the map, check which are open and how the reviews read, and phone one. So the whole decision happens on the Google listing.
Scarborough’s housing makes this steady work: tens of thousands of post-war bungalows and split-levels with ageing drains, original wiring and furnaces near the end of their lives. The demand is there every winter, but whether it reaches you depends on your profile.
Search demand
Canadian suggestion data. Urgency, price and reviews, in that order.
Google suggests plumber scarborough kijiji and electrician scarborough kijiji. In other words, some homeowners here check classifieds first. What a licensed contractor has that a classified ad does not is proof: a licence number, insurance, a business address, named reviews. So putting those where homeowners can see them is the answer to the cheap listing.
The profile
A service business has no shopfront to walk past, so the profile does that job.
The work
Profile, categories and service areas set so they match how far you actually travel.
One page per job type, with typical prices or ranges if you are willing to publish them.
Pages for the neighbourhoods you serve, such as Wexford or Birch Cliff, written around the housing and the problems you see there.
A text message with a review link sent when the job is finished, while the customer is still relieved.
Google Ads switched on for furnace season or spring thaw, then off again, fenced to your postal codes.
So you know which calls came from search and what they were worth.
Done carefully
Every trade has its own rules and its own ways to get burned. These are the limits we work inside by default.
A profile at an address where you do not work can vanish overnight, with every review on it.
Home-service categories are among the most heavily policed on Google Maps because of fake listings. As a result, virtual offices, keyword-stuffed names and borrowed addresses do get removed. We set profiles up the way Google’s guidelines for business profiles require, so the reviews you earn stay yours.

How we work
Four steps, in order. You always know which one we are on and what it is for.
We check your site, your Google Business Profile and where you rank from several points across Scarborough, then show you the gaps.
We choose the searches worth winning in your neighbourhoods and assign each one to a single page, so no two pages compete.
Profile work, technical fixes, content and citations, done in order of impact so the biggest gains land first.
A monthly report on rankings, traffic, calls and forms, with next month’s plan written in plain English.
Questions
No, since Google lets you set the profile up as a service-area business. You will rank best near your home base, so choosing target neighbourhoods realistically matters.
Those are worth keeping, but search adds customers who have never heard of you, and the profile and reviews you build are yours, not rented from a lead platform.
A range or a call-out fee helps, because “prices” is one of the things people search. It also filters out callers who were never going to pay your rate.
Not on the map from one location. You can rank on the map near your base, and also in ordinary results more widely with area pages. Then ads cover the rest.
Ads can bring calls in the first week, while map and organic gains from SEO for contractors usually take three to four months to show clearly.
