Categories and services
Primary and secondary categories set, with each service listed.
Leaving a dog with a groomer or a boarding kennel is an act of trust, so owners treat the search that way. They look at the map, then open the three or four nearest listings and read the reviews closely, especially for mentions of nervous dogs, clean premises and staff who care.
The searches themselves are simple and local: dog grooming Scarborough prices, dog daycare Scarborough Ontario, emergency vet Scarborough open now. There is very little to rank for beyond the map pack, so the Google profile is nearly the whole game.
Search demand
Canadian suggestion data. Short and local, but practical.
Owners searching for a groomer or a daycare often add Ontario to the search, as the suggestions above show. So put “Scarborough, Toronto” in your profile description, page titles and address, then mention the neighbourhoods you actually serve, such as West Hill or Agincourt if those are yours. As a result, Google and the searcher both know immediately that you are close by.
Common gaps
In our audits it is mostly one of these four.
“Pet groomer”, “Dog day care centre”, “Pet boarding service” and “Veterinarian” are separate categories. Many businesses offer several but list only one.
Grooming is searched with “prices”, so a list by size or breed group settles the question.
Owners want to see the space and the animals in it, so a profile with only a logo and one exterior shot reassures no one.
A worried review with no reply is read by every future customer. However, a calm, specific answer changes how it lands.
The work
Primary and secondary categories set, with each service listed.
Published on the profile and the site, by size, coat or length of stay.
Fresh photos of finished grooms and contented animals, posted only when owners agree.
A booking link on the listing and the website, so owners can reserve at any hour.
Every review answered with care, especially the difficult ones.
Boarding pages and hours updated before long weekends and holidays.
Done carefully
Every trade has its own rules and its own ways to get burned. These are the limits we work inside by default.
Owners can tell the difference between a business that loves animals and one that says so.
We describe what you actually do, such as staff ratios, how nervous dogs are handled and vaccination requirements. For veterinary clinics, advertising is governed by the profession’s regulator, so medical claims are kept factual and approved by the clinic.

A monthly report on rankings, traffic, calls and forms, with next month’s plan written in plain English.
Questions
Yes. If clients come to you, your address can show, but if you are mobile, set it up as a service-area business with the address hidden.
One listing with the right primary category and the others as secondary, as well as a separate page for each on your website.
Reply once, calmly, with the facts and an offer to talk, because other owners will read it. It can only be removed if it breaks Google’s policies.
A small one helps, because it supports the profile, holds your price list and booking, and is also something you own.
Profile improvements often show within a few weeks in this category, because competition on the map is lighter than in trades or health.
